GIS Data Resources

Spatial and Numeric Data Services collects and provides access to spatial (GIS) data files for UCalgary users.

We keep track of the many open data websites and portals, and we will search for files that we don't have in our collection. Many files can be downloaded from our data catalogue. If you are a UCalgary user who is looking for data, and you do not see what you need in the data catalogue, send an email describing what you are looking for. Some data, including licensed data, is not listed in our catalogue but is available by contacting SANDS.

We have data files from the following vendors that have been licensed to the University of Calgary for teaching and research purposes:

• AltaLIS Data (users must sign a data release agreement)
• City of Calgary (users must sign a data release agreement)
• Community Data Program
• DMTI Spatial
• ESRI
