About the International Law Guide

This guide is designed to assist your research for your international law and treaty research. It does not include conducting legal research in foreign countries or for comparative law. This guide will provide access to a vast array of print and electronic resources available through the library. Treaty Definitions

Definitions:

  • International law = The legal system governing the relationships between countries; more modernly, the law of international relations, embracing not only countries but also such participants as international organizations and individuals (Black's Law Dictionary 11th ed 2019).
  • Foreign law = The law of another state or of a foreign country (Black's Law Dictionary 11th ed 2019).
