NASLIN: North American Sport Library Network

NASLIN

The North American Sport Library Network was founded in 1989 by Wayne Wilson (Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles) who served as the first Chairman, Gilles Chiasson (Sport Information Resource Centre), Boodie Newsom (United States Olympic Committee), Gretchen Ghent (University of Calgary Library), and Tom Heitz (National Baseball Hall of Fame Library)

Initially, NASLIN established the following goals:

  • To facilitate communication and resource sharing among sports librarians, archivists, and information specialists through conferences, educational programs and other cooperative projects.
  • To communicate with related organizations, nationally and internationally regarding cooperative projects and programs. These organizations include, the Canadian Association for Sports Heritage, and the International Sports Heritage Association

NOTE: With the publication of NASLINE, no. 36, September 2010, the NASLIN Steering Committee and Founding Members have decided to discontinue this informal association and the publication of our e-newsletter.
