Videos in the University Library Collections
There are two main collections of videos (on DVD or VHS) in the University Library system that are of interest to Education:
Doucette Library of Teaching Resources on the 3rd floor of the Education Classroom Block:
- Focus on videos suitable for showing in K-12 classrooms, but also a smaller collection of videos about 'how to teach'
- All available for 2 week loan
- Well over 1,600 titles
Visual and Performing Arts on the 3rd floor of the Taylor Library:
- Both 'in class use' and 'one week loan' videos
- Carrels for individual viewing and three bookable rooms for group viewing of videos
Smaller video collections are also found in all the branch libraries.
The search box in the middle column is set-up to search only for videorecordings, wherever they are located in the system.

Regular Catalogue Search for Videos
Search tips for searching the regular Library Catalogue for DVD and VHS titles:
Add "videorecording" to your search terms (the search box in the middle column does this automatically)
OR
Use the Advanced Search screen, and limit by Specialized Format to VHS-Video or DVD.
Limit further if desired
- by Location, e.g. Video Collection - VPArts (Taylor 3rd floor)
- by Branch, e.g. Doucette
Use the 'Narrow your search with this subject' feature (located to side of the search results screen). Choose the subject of interest (subjects correspond to call numbers).
Note location, call number, and loan period.
