Land cover, human footprint and historical orthophotos are available for download from their FTP directory

GeoGratis Download Directory
A listing of datasets available via ftp,including Canadian topographic, Landsat satellite and water data

GeoGratis Web Services
Site offers WMS and API links that provides developers with the ability to search, discover, assess and access data and information products such as maps, images, photos and documents

Several imagery, base map and thematic layers are available using either the WMS URL within a GIS, or by using Google Earth and the .kml link

A public website that provides online access point to different types of maps and geographic information related to Saskatchewan. Free to search and download

United Nations GEO Data Portal
The GEO Data Portal online database holds more than 450 different variables, such as national, subregional, regional and global statistics or as geospatial data sets (maps), covering themes like Freshwater, Population, Forests, Emissions, Climate, Disasters, Health and GDP. Can be displayed as on-the-fly as maps, graphs, data tables or download the data in different formats

DIVA-GIS is actually free GIS software, however the site is a good source of country-level data (hydrography, roads, land cover, elevations, administrative boundaries...)
