This guide is intended to help researchers locate cases, legislation, commentary and databases on Indigenous Peoples and the Law.
Government
- Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs CanadaCIRNAC is one of the federal government departments responsible for meeting the Government of Canada's obligations and commitments to First Nations, Inuit and Métis and for fulfilling the federal government's constitutional responsibilities in the North. Many of these responsibilities are defined by the more than 50 laws and regulations that CIRNAC administers. The Department's programs, services, policies and legislative initiatives help fulfill its responsibilities.

- Aboriginal and Treaty Rights Information Systemo ATRIS, from the Consultation and Information Service (CIS) at Crown-Indigenous and Northern Relations Canada (CIRNAC), provides information on the location and nature of established and potential Aboriginal and Treaty rights related to consultation research.

- Aboriginal Justice Implementation CommissionIn April 1988, the Manitoba Government created the Public Inquiry into the Administration of Justice and Aboriginal People, commonly known as the Aboriginal Justice Inquiry.

- British Columbia Treaty CommissionThe Treaty Commission is the independent body responsible for facilitating treaty negotiations among the governments of Canada, BC and First Nations in BC.
- First Nations Land Management Resource CentreIncludes the Framework Agreement on First Nations Land Management.
- The Metis Settlements General CouncilMSGC is the political and administrative body for the collective interests of the eight Metis Settlements. The MSGC may enact laws (General Council policies) that are binding on the General Council and every Settlement. These laws (General Council policies) are equal in status to other Alberta provincial laws.
- First Nations in British Columbia PortalThe First Nations in BC Portal was developed by the First Nations Technology Council and facilitates the sharing and exchange of knowledge.
- Centre for First Nations GovernanceThe Centre for First Nations Governance is a non-profit organization that supports First Nations as they develop effective self- governance.
