Many books are written specifically for law students and can help explain difficult legal concepts.  The books in Irwin Law's Essentials of Canadian Law series, for example, are specifically designed to be a resource to students.  The Irwin titles are available in print in the law library's Reserve Collection and also electronically.

Some of the student-focused books on the first year courses are listed below, listed in alphabetical order of the course subject - Constitutional Law, Contracts, Criminal Law, Property and Torts. You can find other titles on the same topic by browsing the call number range in the collection.
