Cummins Homestead Directories

The Cummins Rural Directories, sometimes called homestead maps, are historical maps that show rural landowners for the prairie provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. These maps also show other features such as water bodies, railroads, towns, hamlets, and villages. 

Use our Cummins Rural Directories App allows you to search for these maps easily. To use the website:

  1. Navigate to the area you are interested in on the site or search for a location using the search bar. The rectangles represent the extent of each of the maps.
  2. Click on the screen to select the map you want. A pop-up window will appear listing the years that we have available for that area.
  3. Select the year you are interested in and it will redirect you to that map in our Digital Collections.
