Alberta Maps at UCalgary

Alberta Township Plans and Field Notes
Log in as a guest to Alberta's Spatial Information System (SPIN2) for free access to low-resolution JPEGs of DLS Township Plan. Note: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, or better, is the ONLY browser supported by SPIN 2

Alberta Historical Landuse and Landscape Data Library

ALCES, a non-profit online educational data website states the library is NOT a substitute for the original data sources, but rather a convenient locale to view time series that illustrate key landuse and landscape metrics

Atlas of Alberta Railways
Hosted by the University of Alberta, 224 detailed maps are accompanied by short articles, illustrations, historic photographs, graphs and interesting trivia

GeoDiscover Alberta
Interactive Map Viewer (requires Silverlight installed), provides various grid layers, cadastral, disposition and imagery base maps, which can be annotated and printed

Alberta Fish and Wildlife Management Information System (FWMIS)
This site allows you to view Alberta Fish & Wildlife data and create and print your own maps

Alberta Geological Survey interactive Minerals Map
Bedrock, superficial geology, sediment thickness and topography layers are available. AGS also provides links for free downloads of its maps in .pdf format and as GIS digital datasets

Agroclimatic Atlas of Alberta
The Atlas describes the climate elements relevant to agriculture in Alberta and presents 29 sets of maps of agroclimatic characteristics

Information and graphics on Alberta's water basins, as well as other water-related sites

Alberta Floods Portal
Flood maps and studies produced under Alberta's Flood Hazard Identification Program.

Alberta Prairie Lakes Bathymetry
Bathymetric maps from Alberta Sustainable Resources Development show contours of depth in a lake or reservoir. GIS shapefiles  are also available from the Alberta Geological Survey

Maps, reports and data from Alberta Conservation Information Management System (ACIMS)

Recreational Access to Alberta Public Lands
This site contains contact information for recreational users who wish to access Alberta's Public Lands that are under agricultural lease, license or permit. It is intended to help find out what lands are involved, who to contact for access, and what conditions of access apply. Must use Microsoft Internet Explorer browser

CalTopo - Kananaskis & Calgary Trails
Largely US-based, the map overlay features hiking trails in the Kananaskis area and Calgary, which can be exported to a GPSr.

Southern Alberta Trail Mapping Project
Includes downloadable files for use in GPSr, Google Earth or ArcGIS.

Disposition Spatial Processing Tool
An online viewer that shows dispositions, or surface activities, placed on Alberta's public land
