Environmental Science Holdings at Archives and Special Collections

"Environmental science brings together the fields of ecology, biology, zoology, oceanography, atmospheric science, soil science, geology, chemistry and more in an interdisciplinary study of how natural and man-made processes interact with one another and ultimately affect the various biomes of Earth." from Environmental Science.org

Here at the University of Calgary, our Environmental Science program has six major focuses which include the fields of biological sciences, chemistry, geography, geology, physics, and statistics. As such, the archival collections housed in Archives and Special Collections reflects the fields above because we collect the material from professors and research groups associated with the Environmental Science program and the Faculty of Science. Additionally, you will also find materials created by individuals and organizations from Calgary and the surrounding area related to their efforts to lobby and advocate on the topics of climate change, environmental protection, remediation, management and environmental policies.
