What are they?
Ratio analysis involves calculating ratios using data from a firm's financial statements and comparing these ratios to previous years, other companies, the industry, or even the economy to judge the performance of the company.

Beta is a measurement of stock price volatility relative to a broad market index; the tendency of a security's returns to respond to swings in the market. The beta of the market is 1.00, so a beta of less than 1 means that the security will be less volatile than the market.
