If you use Zotero citation software and you have installed Zotero's browser extension, note that it interferes with the functionality of the Genome Viewer. You'll need to either select "Don't Proxy this site," as shown in the screen shot below, or disable the browser extension while you're doing this lab, or use a different browser that doesn't have the extension installed. If you're unable to see the picture of the gene, as shown in the Genome Viewer tutorial, this is the cause.
