Selected Canadian Federal Administrative Bodies
In Canada, the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 and it's associated regulations provide the legislative authority for environmental assessment across Canada. The Impact Assessment Act and the Canadian Energy Regulator Act created changes in 2019. The main administrative bodies for environmental impact assessments (EIAs) at the federal level with the responsible authority in Canada are:

Canadian Energy Regulator, formerly National Energy Board (NEB), environmental assessment process resources:
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) environmental assessment process was merged into the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 (CEAA, 2012). Therefore, use CEAA for current processes.
