Open Educational Resources (OER)

This guide provides information and resources to help support you learn about OER, find and evaluate existing OER, adopt OER, and create OER projects.

Open Educational Resources (OER) are:

Learning, teaching and research materials in any format and medium that reside in the public domain or are under copyright that have been released under an open license, that permit no-cost access, re-use, re-purpose, adaptation and redistribution by others (UNESCO, 2021).

A good overview of OERs from Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) which is an international alliance of academic and research libraries working to create a more open system of scholarly communication.
OER Mythbusting
This resource from the OER policy for Europe project is both a mythbusting guide and a quick introduction to OER.
