This guide provides information and resources to help support you learn about OER, find and evaluate existing OER, adopt OER, and create OER projects.

Open Educational Practices Community of Practice

Facilitated in partnership between the Taylor Institute and Libraries & Cultural Resources, this community of practice (CoP) is a space for educators, staff and students at the University of Calgary to share their efforts and experiences with open educational practices (OEP), open educational resources (OER), pedagogies, and resources. The OEP CoP is a community-driven effort and will evolve overtime to fit the needs of the Open Education community at the University of Calgary.

Format

In this community of practice, members will have the opportunity to:

  • Share open educational practices, resources, approaches, and challenges
  • Connect with peers and colleagues interested in expanding and supporting each other in our efforts
  • Contribute to the development and direction of Open Education supports and community across and beyond UCalgary

Meeting notes are shared in a Teams channel that all participants have access to. Members are welcome to use the Teams chat to connect with each other and share resources, events, wins, and challenges.

Invitation to Join

This community of practice is open to educators, staff, students, and partners who share an interest in open educational practices, including open educational resources (OER).

Meeting Frequency

At this time, this group meets once per term (Fall and Winter).
