What is a Resume? A resume is a marketing document that shows a potential employer what relevant skills, education and accomplishments you have that will benefit them. It should demonstrate your talents and abilities for a specific job and shows that you CAN do the job, and WANT to do the job.

Drop-in
Stop by the Centre for Career and Personal Development (MSC 188) during drop-in advising hours for guidance on a quick question or some one-on-one help. Students can also connect with a Career Development Specialist virtually for drop-in advising. Drop-in appointments are typically 15 minutes in length. If a longer appointment is required, please book through Elevate.

Quick Tips
Use the same font on your resume & cover letter.
Tailor each resume to each job you apply to.
Do your research! Find out as much as you can about the job and company you are applying to.
Include sections like: Profile/summary of skills/highlights, Education, Experience, & Volunteer or community involvement.
