Ancient & Medieval History Studies

Ancient and Medieval History examines the political, economic and social development of the Mediterranean world and western Europe from the 4th century to the 15th century C.E.

Key Skills & Knowledge

Appreciation and awareness of cultural differences: Exposure to different cultural environments; appreciation and awareness of cultural differences through the influence of different historical factors.

Research: Synthesize a large amount of information and draw conclusions based on that information; data collection; process and synthesize vast amounts of historical data and apply where relevant; interpret research and data; forecast possible future trends.

Historical knowledge: Knowledge of the history of various geographical areas and time periods; Knowledge of various geographical areas and time periods; understand and interpret both the past and the present.

Interdisciplinary perspective: Place current events in cultural, social and historical context; Understanding of the influence of “perspective” on facts; a sense of “sequence” and interrelationship between events.

Project management and team work: Mediate in disputes and conflicts; listen objectively; make keen observations, solve problems, and make appropriate decisions.
