Business Analytics
Business Analytics (BANA) develops a new type of student for today’s data economy. BANA graduates are well equipped with analytical thinking, quantitative problem-solving, and computer-oriented techniques to analyze data and create insights for fact-based decision-making. In today's world, businesses, consumers, and societies create massive amounts of data by design, and as a by-product of their activities. Businesses in every industry are harnessing the power of data to support operations, decision-making, planning, and risk management.
Key Skills & Knowledge
Verbal and written communication - Ability to summarize, condense and organize ideas and information; Ability to articulate, explain, and teach technical information to others; Ability to question and probe to improve business processes; Communicating Business process Improvement(BPI) Methodology and Tools ; LEAN principles
Problem-solving - Defining and solving problems; Approaching topics and problems from various perspectives; Analyzing multiple dimensions of a problem; Decision making skills; Advanced quantitative abilities; Trouble shooting
Technical - Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and other Microsoft applications Demonstrated ability of project management/systems development life cycle/ coding
Demonstrated ability of software development/configuration design and best practices Analytics / OLAP Relational Database and SQL Language
