About the Glenbow Handwritten Registers

The Glenbow Handwritten Registers were the books that Glenbow staff used to write each accession entry from the 1950s to 1980s until they started a database for this info. These handwritten records contain unique information that we use to understand acquisitions, permissions, and copyright information for requests.

Our goal is to transcribe all of this data into tables and merge it with our other donor information so it will be easier for Glenbow services staff to provide resources to users.

This is an internal project within Libraries and Cultural Resources.

  • JOB A: Set up tables and text regions for transcription
  • JOB B: Transcribe text
  • JOB C: Review someone else's transcription
  • JOB D: Export the data into a spreadsheet and clean up the spreadsheet
