Browsing

The best way to find all appropriate subject headings or correct terms for author's names is to look for a thesaurus (or index) of terms used in the database.  This then allows you to browse a list and from there select the person or topic you are interested in. Unfortunately, not all databases have thesauri. 

 

Browsing the Library Collection

To browse the Library Collection by call number, title or subject,  go to advanced search and  select Browse from the top  menu bar:

Enter your term and select  the desired browse option:

It is  also possible  to browse the Library shelves from a particular record in the library collection:

 

NOTE:  The virtual browse will bring up all works classified in the subject area regardless of where they are physically located or whether they are only in digital format.
