This journal is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing articles on fundamental research and applications of information visualization.

Academic Conferences

IEEE Visualization Conference (VIS)

IEEE VIS is a gathering of three annual conferences held concurrently: IEEE Visual Analytics Sciences and Technology Conference (VAST), IEEE Information Visualization (InfoVis), and IEEE Scientific Visualization Conference (SciVis).  Papers are published in the journal IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG).

EuroVis is an annual Visualization Conference organized by the Eurographics Working Group on Data Visualization and supported by the IEEE Visualization and Graphics Technical Committee (IEEE VGTC). It has been a Eurographics and IEEE co-supported international visualization symposium held in Europe annually since 1999, as a conference since 2012.  Papers are published in a special issue of the journal Computer Graphics Forum.

Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI)

ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) is generally considered the most prestigious in the field of human-computer interaction and often features novel interactive visualization techniques.  The Proceedings are published by ACM Press.

International Conference on Advanced Visual Interfaces (AVI)

AVI is a biannual conference that address a range of topics in the fields of data visualization and human-computer interfaces.  The Proceedings are published by ACM Press.

Data Visualization Society

Fosters a community of data visualization students and practitioners.  Features a journal (The Nightingale) as well as a variety of resources, job postings, and visualization challenges.

Flowing Data

A blog by Nathan Yau that highlights of visualization work from across the internet as well as the author's own projects and tutorials.

Robert Kosara (researcher at Tableau) describes new and emerging developments in data visualization.  Often provides overviews/highlights from data visualization conferences.

Website of Jon Schwabish with a variety of information  about data communication including the PolicyViz Podcast, tutorials, best practices and review graph remakes, and the HelpMeViz community.

Visualizing Data

Site by Andry Kirk, a freelance data visualization specialist, that features a variety of articles on data visualizations, monthly listing of the "best of the visualisation web", an comprehensive listing of data visualization tools (over 120 tools listed), and information on Kirk's training sessions and books.
