Doucette Library Supports and Collections

The guide supports the Werklund School of Education community to connect with supports and resources at the Doucette Library branch of Libraries and Cultural Resources.

Faculty and Instructor Supports

Your subject librarians are here to support faculty and instructors with their teaching and research needs.

Librarians support:

  • General and tailored library instruction sessions,
  • Consultations,
  • Course material support,
  • Library guides, and
  • Research-focused collection development.

For more information about the types of teaching and learning supports available visit the Faculty Teaching Support service page and reach out to your subject librarian. For other available library supports, visit the Faculty Services page.

Note: We no longer offer collection-focused instruction.

Course Material Services

Libraries and Cultural Resources offers additional services to support faculty and instructors with their course materials.

Reading List Service

The Reading List Service uses a tool to simplify the creation and access to course reading lists. The Reading List Service enables instructors to add materials from different sources into one reading list such as the library’s collections, OER repositories, databases, websites, videos, bookstores, and more. Lists can also be organized by weekly readings or all together. Once launched, students can access their readings directly from their course in D2L.

Open Course Materials Matching Service (OCoMMS)

https://libguides.ucalgary.ca/guides/ocomms

The Open Course Materials Matching Service (OCoMMS) saves teaching faculty and instructors time searching for OER as we will do the searching for you. The OER Support Team will conduct the search  to find potential OER that fit the course materials needs within a course. Following our search, we will provide a curated list of potential OER for requestees to evaluate for potential adoption into their course. This service can be used for established courses, as well as, new courses and programs.
