To activate your access, while on campus, go to nytimesaccess.com. Create an NYTimes.com account using U of C email address. Download your free NYT mobile app. (nytimes.com/mobile). After registration you can access NYTimes.com from any network or location. Renewal is on an annual basis.
In order to access from off campus, you need to authenticate as a current University of Calgary student, faculty, or staff and use your @ucalgary.ca e-mail address to create a NYTimes.com account.

- Authenticate as a current University of Calgary student, faculty, or staff (login FAQ)
- Select Create Account and follow the prompts.
You can search back issues, with some date limitations. Available from 1857 - 1922, and 1981-. Use the search function on nytimes.com or the mobile search app. Then narrow by date range. It is also possible to search by specific date in TimesMachine to see how the article appeared on that day in history. https://timesmachine.nytimes.com/browser.
